dc.descriptionFood-borne diseases are considered vitally important for the public health services due to their incidence, severity and both economic and social aftermath. Among those diseases it’s located the listeriosis, which presents a low morbidity and fatal consequences, being consider as one of the highest inside this group of conditions derived from the consumption of poisoned foods contaminated by the bacteria L. monocytogenes, consider as an universal distribution bacteria, tolerant to different physical and chemical conditions for its growth, such as refrigeration, as a typical food-conservation procedure. The current document shows a general scene of the food transmission diseases, in this case, the listeriosis, and its causal agent, Listeria monocytogenes, which has been consider, in the last years, as an emergent food disease in the health matter due to its severe aftermath, especially in demographic groups like the immunosuppressed, children, elderly people and pregnant women; coupled with the problem of a prevalence and a food strains’ isolation that show the phenomena of resistance to multiple antimicrobials, some of them used as a first and a second option in the medical treatments against the disease. Likewise, it will show the different actions in control, search and the isolation of the pathogen in foods matters taken in different countries around the world, including México.es_MX
